Sexual Assault: Any type of unwanted physical (sexual) contact, usually but not always, of or with any sexual part of the body. Statutory Rape: Sexual activity with someone under the age of 18. There are also laws and penalties withage restrictions for sexual relations between a subordinate and a person of authority (teacher, priest, police, coach or tutor, guardian). Statutory rape charges are usually spurred by the parents of the victim, but are prosecuted by the State. The State can file charges even if the person underage 18 objects to the charges.
